The General Manager position is extremely complex as it encompasses a wide variety of responsibilities. EQ is the ability to to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in a positive manner to effectively relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflict. EQ begins with having the ability to seek to understand. When we understand another person's perspective, it arms us with the ability to address issues in an impactful manner.

 

Another important element in a General Manager's success is the ability to practice servant leadership. This means we lead with integrity, trust, and respect while putting the team first. Successful General Managers understand that the best way to create personal success is to help everyone around them be successful.
